History of Wirrina Cove

Picture
The Ramindjeri Aboriginal people originally inhabited Wirrina Cove.  Wirrina Cove in its current guise, is one of the newer settlements of the area and was a purpose-built community designed around the town's golf course and marina.
An original 1840's Settlers Cottage is located on the Caravan Park premise, which we hope to restore and open as a Heritage Centre or possibly a Tea House in the future.

Yankalilla is the oldest town in the district and was established in the 1840s as a service centre for surrounding dairy and cattle properties. Normanville was established soon after and grew rapidly following construction of the town's jetty.
